Analyzes supply and demand data to create new purchase orders and expedites requests to accommodate production schedules.
Creates and manages new supplier relationships, negotiates bid packages, monitors pricing fluctuations, and seeks out cost-saving measures—sources and purchases components for engineering, production, and sales.
Performs procurement activities and administers purchase orders based on planned orders (MRP) and the scheduled date for builds.
Communicates with suppliers on purchase order confirmations, updating due dates in the system for Production scheduling purposes.
Initiates discussions between suppliers and respective departments (Production, Receiving, Engineering, Accounting) involving procurement-related issues.
Acts as a liaison between suppliers and employees. Maintains vendor database.
Hard Skills
Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
Knowledge of sourcing and warehouse management practices; RFQs, RMAs, etc.
Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLookup
Proficiency in computer skills
