Bed Depot Equipment Technician

Summary :The tech will be responsible for locating equipment and utilize systems to ensure accuracy of level and maintain par levels. Cleans contaminated equipment following manufactures directions and/or policies of the Equipment Depot. Receives order form Teletracking system and determines where equipment being ordered will be sourced internal or external (rented). Tech will round facility daily and utilize Teletracking to remove soiled equipment and deliver clean equipment as needed. Tech will retrieve used code and procedure carts, stock carts and replace carts as needed.Candidate must be committed to consistently following and be part of the Baystate Health System Operating Principles of communication, integrity, respect, trust and collaboration and the Caring Values of quality, compassion, teamwork, service, innovation.Interacts often in a positive light with patient, family, and caregivers in a calm, caring, professional manner.Job Responsibilities:1 ) Cleans contaminated equipment following manufacturers directions and/or policies of the Bed Depot Department.2 ) Proficient in locating and using online ordering systems. Ability to document all equipment collected and delivered.3 ) Responsible for moving and transportation of equipment beds and follow the proper storage of equipment.4) Responsible for greeting and utilizing scripting whenever interacting with patients and customers.5 ) Follows departmental procedure guidelines and standard precautions in managing contaminated patient care equipment and supplies. Standard precautions include: hand hygiene, sharps safety and wearing personal protective equipment.6 ) Maintains health, safety and attendance requirements.Required Work Experience :1 ) 1 year in Hospitality Services.Preferred Work Experience:1 ) Customer service and/or prior healthcare experience dealing with patients, their families, visitors and hospital staff.2 ) Environmental experience.Skills and Competencies :1 ) High level interpersonal skills.2 ) Must be able to read, write and speak English.3 ) Adheres to system and department compliance policies and any applicable laws and regulations.4 ) Ability to use pager, telephone or teletracking system.5 ) Understands proper telephone etiquette.6 ) Microsoft Excel skills.7 ) Ability to perform daily responsibilities with minimal supervision with the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.8 ) Able to work in a team environment, collaborating with co-workers and unit staff.9 ) Able to maintain a high level of flexibility, organization and prioritizing work.You Belong At BaystateAt Baystate Health we know that treating one another with dignity and equity is what elevates respect for our patients and staff.
