The position will be located and the Saint Joseph Technology Center. In this role they will test dryers in the dryer algorithm and performance laboratories, while developing and applying a strong understanding of washer and dryer performance behavior. Also will use critical thought to interpret that information for algorithm and performance evaluations. This candidate will need the technical foresight to plan and perform tests with minimum guidance and communicate results to test requestors, in addition, to develop and document any new analysis methods.Your responsibilities will include

Performs tests without supervision. Create reports with test results in the ETM (Engineering Test Management, lab software reporting system). Communicate to the supervisor to schedule and prioritize activities. Works with other technicians for completion projects and of specific department objectives.

Provide technical direction and critical thought in problem solving and insights that go beyond the data in the reports.

Have a continuous improvement mindset and implement continuous improvement projects and Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities with 5S. Identify the problem and articulate the root cause and solution and document learnings. Documents new standard work instructions and improves current instructions and Cross train and assist other personnel as needed

In addition, to develop and document any new test procedures, help to write test procedures and reference guidelines. The Technician is also responsible for maintaining a strong communication link to various product teams, supervisors and related departments.

Minimum requirements

Engineering Technical Certificate or Associates Degree in Electrical/Electronics or a Science field and 1+ years of experience in an engineering lab or testing environment OR, High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years test laboratory experience or electrical field professional experience.

Preferred skills and experiences

Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or a Science field

Experience with power tools

Ability to use advanced laboratory equipment and instrumentation, maintain in good working order and assure calibration

Ability to move appliances (Washers and Dryers) with an appliance cart

Ability to use equipment with precision to gather data (Scales, stopwatches, etc).

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Basic knowledge applications such as: Google, Microsoft Word and Excel

Proven good judgment and the respect of peers and client groups

Strong Math Skills including a basic understanding of statistics

Household appliance product experience.

Planning and organization skills

Broad knowledge of product performance standards, procedures and processes, and the ability to adapt this knowledge to unusual situations

Ability to work on multiple test procedures concurrently

Ability to write and complete final test reports, including conclusions.
