We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team!
As a Medication Aide, you will be responsible for assisting in the administration of medications to patients under the direction of a nurse or healthcare professional. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medication administration protocols will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
We want you to join our team as a Level One Medication Aide (L1MA)
To be successful in this role, job candidates should have the following experience and qualifications:
- Skilled in meeting others' needs- from personal care and medication management to meal preparation, cleaning,
laundry, and activities.
- Enjoy making those around you feel loved and engaged.
- Experienced in working with adults with mental illness disabilities.
- Team-oriented in your work. Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have reliable transportation.
- Pass a background check for Family Care Safety Registry.
- Have a positive, engaging, and proactive approach.
- Have a valid Level One Medication Aide (L1MA) certification through the Department of Health and Senior Services
(DHSS)
- Level one med aid:
- Safely and effectively pass medications
- Order refills for medications when needed
- Effectively sign off medication given or note why medication was not given
- Properly process any medication orders given by resident physicians and order it from the pharmacy
- Note any reactions to medications
- Help with assisting residents with ADL’s
- Note any resident changes, symptoms etc. notify the DON or nurse on call and fax physician or send to ER if directed.
### Duties:
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Follow proper medication administration protocols and procedures
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Document medication administration accurately in medical records
- Assist with other patient care tasks as needed, such as taking vital signs or assisting with activities of daily living
- Maintain a clean and organized medication cart or area
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
