Vacancy caducado!
We are a small family farm seeking help to feed and water our large number of animals on weekday morning and afternoon shifts. Morning shifts start at 730am and go until 1130 am and afternoon shifts go from 2 pm until 500 pm.
GREAT JOB Opportunity for college students! After school position is available for Wed through Sunday.
Many shifts are available currently. You must work one weekend day per week.
Full-time needed for 5 days/week: Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday. Farm experience is a must to be considered for a full-time position. Please include references from farms you have worked on before.
Part-time: I currently need someone to work Saturday or Sunday.
Part-time weekend: Farm retail booth salesperson. Hours are 6 am to 2 pm every Saturday from 4/6/24 to 11/2/24. More details below
While farming experience is preferred, we are happy to train you on the job. No two days are alike because our animals make it fun and challenging. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of and ease of handling animals. He/she must be able to lift 50 lb feed bags and can easily walk 10,000 steps a day. The person should love working outside in all kinds of weather (freezing temps, snow, ice or heat like 90F days or above) because animals need to be fed no matter what. The person should also have a reliable method of transportation as you will need to go between two properties (¼ mile apart).
Cleaning the barn and cages is a must, and we have a rotating schedule for cleaning so nobody gets burnt out on cleaning. We have a goat barn to clean, a rabbit barn with stacked cages with trays and suspended cages requiring cleaning under the cages, and a quail shed with stacked cages and trays to clean weekly.
We also butcher our own chickens or ducks. Applicants should be available for butchering.
We are also looking for someone interested in milking goats (machine milk) twice daily.
We are looking for honest, working people who love animals and understand the workings of a farm-to-table operation. We prefer a long-term commitment of 6 months to a year or beyond, with a sign-on bonus at the end of 6 months. We will do criminal background checks and ask for 3 references.
The position's start date is now. It is a part-time position, but if everything works out, it could be full-time.
The full-time position starts ASAP.
For retail position: Ideal candidate should be able to handle fast-paced cash and credit card transactions and hand correct cash change. The day begins at 6:00 AM with loading coolers (30-50 lbs) into the van in our repository in St. Louis, driving to Tower Grove market, unloading and setting up tent and booth, handling 20-30 sales per hour, packing up by 12:30, return to depot and put away perishables. Earn $120/shift.
We do not provide housing but are open to having you park a trailer/RV living on-site. A renter fee will be charged in this case. We do not have septic for trailer or RV dump.
You must live within 30 miles from Labadie to apply.
To apply for this job, please email: rosalie@grandarmyfarm.com
We request that you write a paragraph explaining your previous experience with animals and why you think you are suited for this job.
Please list 3 references and a working phone number for each.
