Adheres at all times to Animal Welfare and Bio-Security protocols, guidelines, and procedures at all times.Essential Responsibilities:

Basic sow/gilt handling: feeding/watering/moving

Operating machinery and equipment

Assisting with farrowing (birth)

Assist with breeding (artificial insemination)

Handling and using chemicals

Vaccinating and medicating sows and piglets

Cleaning, afterbirth, dead pigs, scraping

Ability to use computer equipment: hand held devices and electronic wands

Work with Data Tech on getting info to them, Daily info, Corrections

Treatment cards

Recording on information on cards

Ear tagging

Safety meetings

Animal welfare adherence

Power washing

Scraping feeders

Check feed system and fill lines

Maintenance reported to management

Stun gun use and maintenance

Housekeeping duties

Any other tasks asked by Assistant or Manager

Required Qualifications:

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Available to work every other weekend

Must be able to read/comprehend English and authorized to work in the U.S.

Good math skills.

Good mechanical aptitude.

Ability to bend, push and pull, and lift 60 lbs.

Walk 90% of the day.

Have reliable transportation to and from work

Computer knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications :

Familiarity with Bio-Security and Power washing

Familiarity or experience with swine production
