Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Cost Analyst in the food processing and distribution industry, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. As an Inventory Cost Analyst, you will play a crucial role in inventory accounting, reporting, and analysis, providing valuable insights to ensure effective inventory management and cost efficiency.Responsibilities: Accurately perform period-end close activities for inventory and related reserves, including the preparation of accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Reconcile perpetual inventory to the general ledger, verifying the completeness and accuracy of all inventory account balances. Ensure proper valuation and reservation of inventory in accordance with US GAAP, and record related liabilities accurately. Prepare and present monthly reconciliations for all inventory related accounts, perform variance analysis, and prepare other financial reports. Analyze and communicate variances to management, providing recommended actions. Identify slow-moving and other potential at-risk inventory items, develop action plans to minimize risks, and coordinate between the Finance and Operations teams to ensure follow-through on action items. Oversee cycle counting program and physical inventory observation at internal and external facilities, ensuring controls are functioning in accordance with company policies. Collaborate with multiple departments to streamline processes and discuss new strategies to improve efficiency with departmental managers throughout the company. Analyze product costs and landed costs, review product, transportation, storage, and other costs with Operations to identify issues or areas of improvement. Serve as the primary point of contact for all audit related requirements on inventory related items, and work with Internal Audit in periodic testing of internal controls and physical inventory counts.Requirements Interested candidates should meet the following minimum criteria:EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.

5+ years of cost/ inventory accounting experience.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational abilities and adept at managing multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously.

Critical thinker with advanced analytical problem-solving skills.

Strong understanding of data management and workflows.

Understanding of US GAAP, general accounting processes, and financial analysis.

Thorough knowledge of inventory procedures and accounting controls.

Collaborative team player who works well in a fast paced, changing environment.

Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks in a timely manner.

Proficient in Excel formulas and pivot tables.

Bonus points for:

Public accounting experience, or experience in a public company environment.

CPA, CMA and/ or MBA

Import/export, transportation, and cold storage experience. Experience with BOM’s.

Food distribution and/or manufacturing experience.

Experience with Workday ERP and/or Fishbowl WMS.

Bi-Lingual (English & Mandarin).
