Universal Site Services currently has an opportunity for a Handyman/ Maintenance Technician for commercial work in Milpitas, CA. Starting pay will be $21.00-$24.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Full-time positions are eligible for medical, dental, vision, sick leave, vacation and 401(k) plan.

This position is responsible for property maintenance as well as repairs/improvements at multiple locations.
Duties Include: Performs exterior cleaning duties at assigned job sites Picks up debris from the parking lots and property grounds. Empties trash receptacles and sweeps sidewalks as needed. Cleaning such as clean/repair grout, sweeping, mopping, dusting, etc.
Assists other positions when necessary.
Performs general exterior maintenance and repairs on property sites. Removal of illegal dumping or homeless encampments, replacing light bulbs/ tubes and ballasts, painting, cleaning roofs and downspouts, drywall repair, minor plumbing repairs, vacancy clean-outs.
May perform power washing and/or sweep parking lots as needed.
Provides documentation of completed tasks. This includes before/after pictures, task descriptions, and receipts for materials purchased.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Preferred: High School Diploma or Relevant Qualifications
Preferred: Steady Work History
Must possess valid Driver license if operating a company vehicle and be insurable by company insurance if there to operate a USS vehicle or equipment.
Working cell phone is required for daily communication and dispatch purpose along with punching in and out via App to be paid.
Bilingual in Spanish (strongly encouraged)
Must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds normally and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Should have at least cursory knowledge of the following trades: painting, drywall hanging/texturing/repair, stucco/concrete patching, electrical, plumbing, concrete pouring and finishing, carpentry. Should be able to form concrete molds for curbs.
Should be able to work on fences of all types. Paint curbs, Change ceiling tiles, Change Light Ballasts, carpet cleaning, retrofit lights to LED as needed. Electrical ability in commercial setting to change switches , outlets, ballasts, troubleshoot, retrofit to LED lights.
Ability to work on urinals and toilets, faucets, disposals, clear waste lines.
Clean out storm drains up to 4’ deep. Paint clear condensation lines on HVAC.
Must be willing to work on Holidays and weekends as needed. Must also be able to communicate via cell phone and operate a cell phone in order to send photos, text, and email messages to supervisor and to check in/out at sites as required.
