Maintenance Mechanic I

Overview:The Packaging Maintenance Mechanic will perform proactive preventative/predictive maintenance, repairs, and improvements on packaging equipment in an automated food processing facility while keeping a high regard for employee safety, food quality and machine efficiency.Here's what you'll do:Ensures self and coworkers are compliant with all safety rules and regulations (LOTO, fall protection, hot work, etc.)Have the experience/knowledge of Daumar/Giro packaging machines and weighers or similar packaging machinesPerform uptime and downtime preventative maintenance inspections on weighers, baggers, and conveyorsTroubleshoot and perform corrective work on mechanical, electrical (120v, 220v single and three phase, 480v), pneumatic and hydraulic systems within the packaging facilityIdentify and execute improvements on equipment, documentation, work systems, and processesCollaborates with different levels of employees in various departments of the facility through face-to-face, telephone, email, and radio communicationsProvide training and development to operators and other maintenance personnelResearch system and component specifications using equipment manuals, schematics, parts breakdowns, online information, and vendor communicationDismantle and reassemble complex pieces of machinery in an efficient, precise, and reliable mannerOperates cutting, welding, and various other fabrication equipment to cut, form, and/or join materialsCreates/modifies work orders in Computerized Maintenance Management System, and documents details of work performedResearch parts, gather quotes, and generates requestsEscalate technical, procedural, and personnel related issues to direct lead or supervisor as necessaryWork with moral integrity on a consistent basisPerforms other assigned duties and projectsOther duties as assigned
