Role Purpose: The Principal Solutions Architect is a high-visibility, high-impact, customer facing role, responsible for developing and executing strategies for the BEUMER Group organization in North America, and for leading and managing our technical software sales efforts to achieve company objectives relating to customer, market, and financial outcomes within the Logistic Systems Division. The Principal Solutions Architect plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing logistics systems to enhance the efficiency, visibility, and scalability of supply chain operations. This position involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements, analyzing existing processes and systems, and designing innovative solutions that streamline logistics operations and drive business growth.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for logistics systems, translating them into technical specifications and solution designs.Design end-to-end logistics solutions, including warehouse control systems (WCS/WES), transportation management systems (TMS), inventory management systems, and supply chain visibility platforms.Evaluate logistics technologies, software applications, and hardware solutions to identify the most suitable options based on functional requirements, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.Develop integration strategies to seamlessly connect logistics systems with warehouse management systems (WMS), and other business applications.Design data models and database schemas to support the storage, retrieval, and analysis of logistics data, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.Analyze logistics workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, proposing optimizations and automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.Identify potential risks and challenges associated with logistics system implementations, such as data security vulnerabilities, system interoperability issues, and regulatory compliance requirements.Develop comprehensive documentation, user manuals, and training materials for logistics systems, providing training and support to stakeholders as needed.Support Sales by assisting in the functional design and providing functional descriptions. In this process, also mentor and train systems engineers in the development of design and documents.Assist LS Sales Managers and Marketing in promoting our software solutions (including Data Analytics) to clients (calls, visits, marketing material).Assist CS Sales in developing a program/campaign to proactively target software upgrade opportunities (including Data Analytics) for legacy customers.    Act as a liaison between LS and CS Sales and the software engineering, controls engineering and Data Analytics groups.Assist LS and CS sales in preparing cost estimates for software development and integration.Participate in the hand-over process from sales to operations with focus on the securing the correct design parameters for the software functionality and design.Coordinate software activities with other BEUMER companies.Support the development of the BEUMER WCS productBC Product Owner for the Pouch Sorter:Interfacing with / working closely with BGG on design and solutionsWriting/Updating Standard Functional SpecsInterfacing with Ops and CS to develop trainingCoordinate these efforts globally, especially with BDK and BMDevelop white papers on solutions.
