Areas of focus include: pharmaceutical and product procurement, vendor agreements, contract compliance, cost analysis, utilization analysis and vendor relations. This responsibility may encompass acute care, outpatient retail, ambulatory, managed care, specialty pharmacy, outpatient infusion and long-term segments of care delivery. The position works under the direction of the System Pharmacy Business Manager.ResponsibilitiesA day in the life of a Pharmacy Business Analyst at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
Reviews budgets, analyzes and reports on budget variances.
Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
Creates and publishes reports, makes necessary recommendations, and develops ad hoc reports as needed.
Monitors pharmacy clinical and financial trends and constantly looks for ways to improve through efficiencies and cost-saving measures.
Engage with stakeholders to support both short- and long-term priorities.
Lead and support system implementation efforts by gathering requirements, proposing process and system design options, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders, and providing project management support as needed.
Maintains all financial files as necessary.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
1-3 years related operational and/or data analysis experience; experience in database structures, and standard query and reporting tools; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred :
Pharmacy operations experience.
