Bookkeeper

Description Robert Half is seeking a Bookkeeper for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a non-profit organization in Paterson, New Jersey. In this role, you will be accountable for various accounting duties, including managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and handling payroll. This job offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and is based on-site.Responsibilities: Handle data entry tasks and maintain organized, accurate records Conduct account reconciliation tasks diligently Manage monthly payables and receivables with precision Process payroll and submit hours accurately Utilize Microsoft Excel for various tasks Contribute to the month-end close process Adhere to guidance and follow directions meticulously Be open to learning and acquiring new skills in the accounting field Maintain line items efficiently and accurately.Requirements 3-5 Years of experience in a Bookkeeping or similar role. Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required. Knowledge in performing bank and account reconciliations is a must. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a must. Familiarity with Month End Close procedures a plus. Experience in managing payroll time entry preferred.
