We offer EXCELLENT benefits, Scheduling Flexibility, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Discounts and much moreThe Painter Paperhang Ii is responsible for surface preparation then applying coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures. Reads work orders and close after completion. Fill nail holes, cracks and joints with caulk and putty, plaster or spackle. Spread drop cloth over floors and furnishings.Responsibilities

Responsible for setting up and preparing work areas using prescribed methods and approved procedures. Work to be completed in a safe and efficient manner.

Pre set-up: In a safe and efficient manner, gather all necessary supplies and tools before reporting to the work site.

Set-up - In a safe and efficient manner will remove furniture, equipment, curtains and wall hangings to make the area accessible for painting/papering and to ensure that items are not damaged. Will spread drop cloths, mask areas and take other needed steps to protect surfaces from paint or damage. Removes and re-installs cover base.

Preparation - In a safe and efficient manner, removes all loose paint, old wall coverings, fills holes and cracks, prepares new sheetrock by taping and spackling, sands and takes other steps necessary to prepare surfaces for painting/papering following prescribed practices, including the replacement of sheetrock/block walls where necessary.

Paints - Uses prescribed tools and methods in a safe and efficient manner while applying paint to ensure proper adhesion, color match and appearance, including the use of paint sprayers and line strippers in the Parking Deck.

Touch-ups - Completes daily, random touch-ups throughout the Medical Center starting in the Lobby and working up to the fifth floor in all wings.

Wall covering - Uses prescribed tools and methods in a safe and efficient manner while sizing and applying wall covering to ensure proper adhesion, seam match and appearance.

Post paint/paper clean-up - Broom sweeps floor, removes all protective coverings, notifies Housekeeping if necessary, returns all furnishings to original locations in a safe and efficient manner.

Completes finishing work on all walls including finishing spackle coat, sanding down walls, doors, taping and applying all three coats of spackle on newly installed sheetrock.

Maintains all supplies, equipment and storage shed.

Maintains storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion without having unnecessary items stored in them. Keeps equipment in a safe and professional operating manner. Orders and maintains inventory.

Attends Department Team Meetings and in-service programs as scheduled.

Performs snow removal duties as directed

Power washes outside walls for proper painting.

Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

A minimum of two years of experience in the painting field.

Knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices and tools used in painting trade.

Ability to apply different kinds of paints and stains.

Knowledge and ability to mix paint and match colors.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently and to use work order processing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
