We seek investigators who use innovative MRI approaches to image human brain structure and function. Individuals who utilize additional approaches such as EEG, tDCS and rTMS to study human brain function would also be attractive. Applicants must have a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent doctoral degree, and a research program with currently active federal funding. Quality of research and fit within one or more of the four focus areas of the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI; https://brainhealthinstitute.rutgers.edu/) are important criteria (Neurodevelopment, Neurodegeneration, Motivational and Affective Neuroscience, Cognitive and Sensory Neuroscience). We offer a highly competitive salary and an excellent start-up package. With over 280 neuroscience faculty labs engaged in basic and clinical research, and proximity to New York, Princeton and Philadelphia neuroscience communities, BHI offers tremendous collaborative opportunities and core facilities to support and grow an active research program. With a newly awarded NIH CTSA, Rutgers also offers unique opportunities to speed the translation of research discoveries into improved patient care. Outstanding core facilities will support this position, including a new research-dedicated 3T Prisma MRI scanner and a human behavioral testing core developed and operated in collaboration with Princeton University. In addition, the Rutgers-Princeton Center for Cognitive Computational Neuropsychiatry (CCNP) employs cognitive and computational approaches to understand brain function that support complex processes such as perception, memory, decision-making and executive control, and the mechanistic bases of corresponding dysfunctions in a variety of mental disorders. The goal of CCNP is to leverage the expertise in Princeton's Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Institute, and in Rutgers' Departments of Psychology, Psychiatry and Computer Science, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and the Rutgers Brain Health Institute. The Rutgers University Center for Cognitive Science (RuCCS) carries out interdisciplinary research in cognitive science. Researchers from several disciplines, most prominently psychology, linguistics, computer science, and philosophy, come together at RuCCS to learn about the theories and research programs of other scholars with overlapping interests but very different backgrounds. Rutgers-Piscataway has the world's largest university-based cell and DNA biorepository, Infinity BiologiX, to facilitate genetic studies of human brain function and dysfunction.Rutgers values a culturally diverse faculty; we strongly encourage applications from female and underrepresented minority candidates.
