You’re a mentor, a thought leader, and a driving force behind our reputation for quality and client success.ResponsibilitiesPractice Leadership Shape the strategic direction and technical maturity of the Cloud Practice.Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and architects, fostering curiosity, collaboration, and excellence.Align skills and seniority within the team to maintain balance, capability depth, and career growth opportunities.Partner with other Practice Leads to drive consistency in engineering quality across all Bilue disciplines.Partner with Finance and HR Business Leads to drive business performance efficiently.Build teams to deliver client requirements as necessary, from designing and development through to ongoing support and maintenance and managed services contracts.Adhere to best practice standards, such as ISO 27001 in all areas of operations.Practice Management and GrowthDevelop, review, and approve comprehensive Statements of Work (SOW) and resource plans for all projects to ensure feasibility and alignment with sales agreements.Monitor and control project delivery against approved budgets and resource allocations to prevent non-approved billable work.Collaborate closely with Sales and Project Management teams to ensure a smooth transition from contract finalisation to delivery.Regularly analyse conversion metrics to identify and address gaps between sales commitments and project execution, Gross Margin management & Team UtilisationStrategically allocate and manage billable team resources to optimise utilisation and maintain gross margin targets above 45%.Monitor team bench levels and implement proactive strategies to minimise non-billable time without compromising quality or employee development.Track and report on key financial metrics including gross margin, utilisation rates, and labor cost efficiency.Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and cost management within the department.Pre-Sales Support & Innovation ContributionProvide expert support in pre-sales activities including proposal development, client presentations, and technical demonstrations.Champion innovation by encouraging the team to develop creative solutions that differentiate services and provide competitive advantage.Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to translate innovative ideas into concrete business opportunities.Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at developing new service offerings or technology methodologies.Business Growth & Solution DesignCollaborate with Sales and Delivery teams to design cloud-enabled solutions that solve real client problems.Lead pre-sales activities, including proposal reviews, RFP/RFI responses, and architecture validation.Provide subject matter expertise on cloud modernisation, integration, and platform migration projects.Act as a key contributor to Bilue’s go-to-market approach for Cloud, helping shape deals and value propositions.Technical Leadership & DeliveryDefine and uphold Bilue’s cloud architecture standards, frameworks, and reusable IP.Lead solution design and technical governance for major client engagements.Drive quality assurance and delivery health through design reviews and coaching.Stay ahead of emerging cloud trends (DevSecOps, hybrid architectures, FinOps, AI integration) and translate them into practical solutions for clients.Flexible and driven to build new services and revenue lines. Community & CultureCreate and foster a thriving internal community of practice across Cloud Engineering.Promote collaboration, learning and sharing across teams, projects, and locations.Represent Bilue externally through thought leadership, events and industry engagement.General Leadership & Team ManagementInspire, mentor, and develop team members to build high-performing, motivated, and accountable teams.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and client-centric thinking.Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.Report regularly on department performance metrics to senior leadership and participate in strategic planningSecurity Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure all projects adhere to Bilue's information security standards. Proactively identify and mitigate security risks in project design processes.Ensure security requirements are thoroughly communicated and agreed upon with clients.Coordinate with internal teams to address security incidents, manage risk assessments, and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with third-party vendors and clients to maintain secure and compliant design practices.
