We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team. This role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals in a high-volume setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale food preparation, knowledge of food service best practices, and the ability to creatively utilize ingredients to provide balanced meals for our community.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals for large groups in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Utilize creativity to prepare well-balanced meals with available ingredients
Follow safe food handling practices and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Ensure compliance with the City of Albuquerque Health Code at all times
Collaborate with kitchen staff and volunteers to ensure timely meal service
Qualifications
Previous experience in food service and large-quantity meal preparation
Knowledgeable in menu planning and creative use of available food resources
Familiarity with the City of Albuquerque Health Code
Current ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within one month)
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
Ability to adapt quickly to changing menus based on donated or available food
Commitment to serving the community with dignity and care
Schedule: Tuesday through Friday
