Job Title: Travel Solar ElectricianJob DescriptionWe are looking for Lead Solar Electricians to assist on a portfolio of projects in Upstate NY. Candidates will work directly with the project manager and manage a small crew. The main purpose of the Lead Solar Electrician is to install and build various electrical systems and components for the solar farm. The site is not an active construction site. Depending on work location, travel may be required. Local to nationwide travel options are available for candidates interested in full-time travel.Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

Layout and plan the installation of all electrical components of the worksite.

Manage a crew of electricians or work independently.

Execute above and below ground cabling installs safely.

Perform testing, terminations, and QAQC of various systems and components.

Commission and troubleshoot power and communications systems throughout the plant.

Support mechanical activities associated with equipment installation.

Assess and prepare work location for tasks and maintain housekeeping standards.

Safely use power tools, test instruments, and other necessary equipment.

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Load/unload and stage materials such as solar panels, electrical and mechanical equipment.

Attend and complete mandatory training as required (OSHA, AHJ).

Candidates will be familiar with the use of Arc-rated and electrical protection PPE, energized work practices, and NFPA 70e standards for working on or near energized electrical equipment.Typical Day: Candidates will report to the work site trailer in the morning to receive their tasks for the day. They will work on small teams and independently. Candidates need to be willing to work overtime and on Saturdays.Hard Skills

Job TypeThis is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in Binghamton, New York.Work EnvironmentCandidates will report to the Journeyman Electrician overseeing their work area. Journeymen report to the Electrical Superintendent. Shift times are Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. Candidates must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays when required.
