Ops Support, Safety - Transit Management Analyst Series Job ID: 8532Business Unit: New York City TransitLocation: Brooklyn, NY, United StatesRegular/Temporary: RegularDepartment: NYC Transit AuthorityDate Posted: Aug 19, 2024Description Job Information: Title: Ops Support, Safety - Transit Management Analyst Series First Date of Posting: 8/15/24 Last Date of Filing: 9/5/24 Authority: TA Department: Subways Division Unit: Operations Support, DOS Safety Reports To: Senior Director, Employee Support & Safety Location: 130 Livingston St Hours of work: Various Compensation: Associate Transit Management Analyst: $86,565 - $112,083 Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level II: $76,577 - $85,288 Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level I: $65,954 - $78,079 Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Director, DOS Operations Support & Safety, the incumbent will be responsible for NYC Transit Department of Subways industrial hygiene programs including but not limited to: assisting the Office of System Safety (OSS) with the evaluation of field operations and workplace hazards, including indoor air quality investigations; assists in the performance of field surveys to determine compliance with NYC Transit policies; aid in recommending task-specific engineering controls and personal protective equipment; facilitate the process for toxicological reviews of chemical products by OSS; aid with on job task and exposure assessments and development of appropriate recommendations. This position will also aid in the monitoring and oversight of the Hearing Conservation, Asbestos Management, Silica and Lead Management programs for Subways divisions. Must have familiarity with Windows, MS Excel, and Access. Education and Experience: Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:

A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the following areas whereby:

The candidate will perform analytical functions which include researching and analyzing data relating to operational procedures and administrative systems.

Managing the status of projects and coordinating with executives across the agency to provide updates and timely submission of information utilizing charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports.

Develop and recommend procedural or process improvements.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.

Associate Transit Management Analyst:

A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.

Desired Skills:

Knowledge of NYCT Department of Subways.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Teams)

Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
