Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry located in FAIRPORT, New York. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be providing crucial support in financial operations, handling various accounting tasks, and utilizing your skills in Data Entry and Salesforce Administration.Responsibilities: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable functions, including the processing of invoices and preparation of payments. Maintain and ensure the accuracy of financial records through diligent data entry into accounting software and spreadsheets. Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to guarantee financial accuracy and spot any discrepancies. Aid in the creation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations. Collaborate with team members to address accounting discrepancies and enhance processes. Keep abreast of changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency. Take on ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management. Requirements Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Proven experience as an Accounting Assistant or relevant role in the Accounting department Proficiency in data entry and management Knowledge of Salesforce Administration Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulations Proficiency in MS Excel and other accounting software Strong numerical skills and attention to detail Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team Authorization to work in the United States.
