Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our café/restaurant team. The ideal candidate has a passion for food preparation, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure food is cooked and served promptly while maintaining proper temperature and quality.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist with prep work, including cutting, marinating, and organizing ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred (restaurant, café, or catering).
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple orders at once.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
