Position: Car Mechanic
Location: Merc’s Automotive – Oceanside, NY
Job Type: Part-time/Full time 30-50 Hrs/Week
Responsibilities:
Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
Conduct diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues and provide accurate repair recommendations.
Repair and replace worn or malfunctioning parts and components (Brakes, belts, exhausts, tires, suspension components, engine and transmission components).
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.
Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs have been completed correctly and identify any additional issues.
Communicate effectively with owner regarding vehicle issues and recommended repairs.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment (e.g., lifts, diagnostic tools) safely and effectively.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Motivated self-starter with a passion for the automotive industry and a desire to grow within a dynamic workshop environment.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
