NY FLEET, a busy medium/ heavy duty repair company located in western Suffolk, NY, is expanding its service team. We are currently looking to hire a Truck Mechanic who is willing to grow with our company.
Responsibilities:
Main position is to diagnose repairs and defects in vehicles.
Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including tractors, trailers, light-duty vehicles, dump trucks, and more.
Complete vehicle inspection report write-ups timely and efficiently.
Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to correct specifications including, but not limited to, engines, transmissions and suspension, fuel and ignition system, and exhaust, intake, electrical, mechanical, brake, and HVAC systems.
Problem solve/ quality check while following procedures including documenting all work performed on work orders.
Inspect reports, list of repairs and parts, identify root cause of basic failures/ conditions to fix as required, replace defective components, and utilize diagnostic computers when applicable.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 (FIVE) years of experience
Diesel engine repair: 5 years (preferred)
Mechanical knowledge: 5 years (preferred)
The mechanic must provide own tools necessary to perform maintenance, repair and diagnostics.
Maintain a high level of professionalism, motivation, focus, and organization.
Current and valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not mandatory).
Must have great communication skills within a team environment.
Can work in a face-paced shop without sacrificing quality of work.

Salary based on experience: up to $35.00 to $55.00 per hour
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Flexible Hours
Part-time Shift: 3-5 days
Shifts: Mon-Fri 7am-1pm OR Mon-Fri 12pm-4:30pm
ALL SHIFTS ARE FLEXIBLE
Overtime available -(Average 10 hours weekly)
Weekend availability
