Job Description:
RipTide Marine is looking for a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Marina Technician. This role involves working directly on boats, assisting with maintenance, repairs, and safe operations within the marina. Candidates must be comfortable and careful around boats, ensuring they are handled with precision and care. While mechanical experience is a plus, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate who shows a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on boats, including engine work, electrical systems, and hull maintenance
- Assist with launching, docking, and hauling boats
- Operate forklifts, boat lifts, and other marina equipment safely
- Ensure boats are handled with care to avoid damage during all marina operations
- Maintain marina equipment and facilities, keeping them in good working order
- Assist with cleaning and preparing boats for customer use
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting boat owners with questions and service requests
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring both personal safety and the protection of boats and equipment
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with or around boats is highly preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and machinery is a plus
- Careful and cautious approach when working around boats to ensure safety and avoid damage
- Willingness to learn and receive on-the-job mechanical training
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic mechanical, electrical, or marine systems knowledge preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays as needed
