We are an acute care facility with 25 beds, providing a wide range of medical, surgical, and pediatric care.STATUS: Full TimeLOCATION:Massena HospitalDEPARTMENT:Wound CareSCHEDULE: 8 Hour ShiftATTRIBUTESPreferred: Medical Assistant Certification or medical assistant experience preferredPreferred: Strong customer service, computer, and communication skillsRequired: High school graduate or equivalent & at least 6 months of clinical experience as a nursing assistant or related fieldRESPONSIBILITIESReceives patients and their families and directs them to the appropriate place.Answers telephones promptly and politely.Schedules appointmentsFiles pertinent information within patient's recordsObtains insurance prior authorizationsInputs charges on patient accountsVerifies patient insurance upon registrationBillingObtains & documents vital signs on patientsActs as a chaperone for the provider when neededObtains & document patient weightsAssist physician with minor procedures such as suture removalPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.PAY RANGE: $17.66 - $23.63The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
