Duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform Journeyman level mason and plasterer duties.
Plan, lay out, and complete masonry and plastering work - including preparing job estimates and ordering supplies.
Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the mason trade.
Perform restoration work on historic buildings and structures to maintain the original fabric of the building.
Lay building materials such as stone, brick, concrete, and cinder blocks to repair walls, partitions, firebrick linings in furnaces and chimneys.
Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, and sidewalks.
Apply coats of plaster to walls and ceilings, including the preparation of surface, mixing of plaster, application of plaster and erection of scaffolding if needed.
Will be required to train and supervise others.
Operate light trucks, passenger vehicles, tractors, landscape equipment and other small equipment.One year of experience as a skilled journey level mason subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.If verifiable, we will accept and prorate appropriate part-time and volunteer experience.
