Site Project Manager Required For Architectural Metal / Signage

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an Experienced Project Manager that is hands-on and will coordinate with other managers to schedule, plan, forecast resources, and manage all the technical activities aiming at ensuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion. Most larger-scale projects are performed for large General Contractors & CM's (I.e: Tishman / AECOM, Skanska, Turner, etc…)

JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Gain a comprehensive understanding of client design goals and project requirements.

Conduct thorough field verifications to ensure project alignment with site conditions.

Perform take-offs from all signage drawings to understand the project scope.

Compare take-off results with the sales order to identify discrepancies.

Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule and Gantt chart.

Create and manage project control sheets to monitor project status and progress.

Prepare and follow up on submittals, shop drawings, samples, Job Hazard Analysis, Safety Plans, RFIs, Change Orders, and other necessary documents.

Maintain accurate records of all project-related information for documentation, clarification, and presentation to management.

Book and oversee work performed by field supervisors and field workers.

Create and manage work orders for the shop to manufacture required signs and samples.

Collaborate with the art and engineering teams to develop shop drawings and obtain necessary approvals.

Source pricing from potential vendors and run estimates with senior management.

Execute purchase orders for materials and services.

Follow up with clients, submittals, and vendors to ensure timely project progress.

Communicate effectively with clients and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.

Interpret shop drawings for accurate production and installation.

Coordinate the manufacturing and delivery of required samples as per contract specifications.

Liaise with other parties to ensure a smooth workflow and resource allocation.

Assign tasks to staff in design, manufacturing, installation, and subcontractors.

Supervise workers to ensure project specifications and guidelines are followed.

Assist the production manager in managing relevant departments.

Keep track of ongoing project expenses and send out a weekly summary email.

Record and report labor hours, monitor installations, and track installation hours.

Ensure safe and successful installations through effective monitoring.

Oversee project progress in the shop, ensuring accuracy in fabrication (colors, finishes, etc.).

Implement quality control measures.

Monitor installations to ensure they meet project specifications.

Guarantee successful installations and address punch lists issued by GCs and architects.

Track changes to the scope of work (Change Orders) and work with the estimating department to price extras.

Follow up with clients for approvals on change orders.

Prepare closeout documents (as-built drawings, LEED documentation, etc.) and ensure all project aspects are completed.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND / SKILLS:

Master's Degree in Engineering or relevant field experience.

Minimum 5 years of working experience in ornamental metals and familiarity with construction, engineering, and manufacturing rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards.

Strong project management and supervision skills.

Decision-making ability and leadership skills.

Ability to maintain confidential information.

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.

Professional attitude and appearance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Can-do personality, technical knowledge, and strong math skills.

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:

Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. Knowledge of 3D software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and Rhino is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc.).

Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro for markups and work orders.

Experience with MS Project or other project management software.
