What we do:The Communications & Outreach Group is responsible for maintaining and enhancing positive relations with external audiences, including the public, government, financial institutions, and nonprofits, and other stakeholders. The Community Development team is actively involved with community stakeholders in the Federal Reserve’s Second District to address social, economic, and environmental challenges and to promote an economy that works for all. This position reports to a Community Development Director and will work alongside other community development staff members.Your role as Community Development Specialist:· Acts as a seasoned individual contributor. Works independently with limited supervision and manages projects, processes, and relationships.· Produces analyses and programs (https://www.newyorkfed.org/outreach-and-education/calendar) on topics related to economic inclusion and mobility, including financial well-being, climate resilience and adaptation, health equity, and innovations in community investment.· Helps to manage relationships with external stakeholders that the team has engaged in its Making Missing Markets Initiative (https://www.newyorkfed.org/medialibrary/media/outreach-and-education/household-financial-well-being/reports/2024/making-missing-markets) , a collaboration of cross-sector leaders innovating to solve longstanding social and economic issues.· Partners with media relations team, social media, and others on digital media platforms and mediums to support communications strategies.· Participates in District and Federal Reserve System workgroups, produces internal reports, and performs other administrative duties.· Tactical (40%) – focused on the plans to achieve goals and objectives – the “how”, Transactional (60%) – carries out defined steps or processes.What we are looking for:· Demonstrated experience developing programming to benefit underserved communities.· Track record of strategic relationship management, including expanding and deepening networks with community stakeholders.Salary Range: $105000 - $142800/ year We believe in transparency at the NY Fed.
