We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our industry-leading team.As an Associate of the Transaction Execution Group in the Investment Grade Finance ("IGF") team, you will work directly with deal teams across various industries and geographies in structuring and executing investment grade debt transactions. Your role will involve reviewing deal documentation in conjunction with internal legal and IGF bankers. You will negotiate bond covenants, help run the day-to-day management of the transaction and coordinate bond settlements. This role provides an opportunity to develop relationships with senior IGF members, internal legal teams, and outside law firms, and to stay informed about trends and developments in the investment grade market.Job Responsibilities:
Review and negotiate offering documents, underwriting agreements, comfort letters and other transaction documentation in collaboration with internal counsel and broader deal teams
Provide guidance on deal terms and bond covenants
Support IGF deal teams in reviewing pitch and organizational materials for new client mandates
Coordinate with external counsels and middle office to settle bond transactions
Develop relationships with outside counsels to identify relevant and material trends in market terms and documentation.
Update internal partners on new developments in market practice
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Experience working in capital markets at a law firm or financial institution
Basic comfort with Microsoft suite of applications
Ability to run multiple processes while maintaining keen attention to detail
Proactive and collaborative self-starter
Superb organizational and communication skills
Strong work ethic and availability when needed
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Prior experience working with J.P. Morgan and having an understanding of its forms, precedents and procedures would be helpful
