Premier boutique Italian catering company dedicated to producing exceptional culinary events is seeking an Event Chef with off-premise catering experience.
From customized abbondanza Tuscan tables to preparing risotto and pasta from raw ingredients on site, we promote a culture of “unreasonable” dedication to quality, freshness and perfection. We specialize in intimate dinners, luxury fashion receptions and weddings, as well as high-end corporate events. We are especially known for our unique pastry program, where you will never see a prefab tart shell or David’s cookie mix. We are currently seeking part-time Event Chefs to join our team.
About You:
NOTE: Must have experience in off-premise catering in order to apply
Driven and talented chef with a passion for Italian cuisine and the ambition to excel in the luxury catering industry.
Experience in high-end Italian restaurants, with a focus on creativity, technique, and attention to detail
Experience in medium-large scale off-premise catering with a love for creating beautiful food in the face of challenging logistics
Experience in executing restaurant-quality food in a private home
Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as strong computer chops
Ability to execute innovative, aggressively seasonal and delicious Italian dishes, both traditional and modern
The Role:
Work with the Culinary Leadership Team to uphold exceptional quality standards - delivering a luxurious special event while maintaining the integrity of a high-end Italian restaurant experience
Lead the off-premise culinary team according to the vision of the Culinary Leadership
Ensure rigorous knowledge of and adherence to all safety and sanitation guidelines, laws, policies, and procedures
Innovate to resolve operational challenges and issues as they arise
Requirements:
3+ year of experience in off-premise catering at every scale
2+ years of management-level experience at a high-end Italian restaurant or caterer
Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, knowledge of Caterease preferred)
English and Spanish (preferred)
Excellent working knowledge of many styles of cuisine and types of events
NYC Food Handler’s Certificate
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
