We are proud and grateful to be the oldest existing Japanese establishment in Brooklyn. Nestled in the heart of Park Slope and Prospect Heights, we are a second generation restaurant that features the original head chef who has been serving the community for 39 years.
GEIDO (芸道) ’the way of (a) craft’ : We believe in the never ending pursuit of excellence and expression. Through our 'craft', we strive to fulfill our respective duties with integrity by establishing camaraderie amongst our team, collectively building a strong work ethic, and emphasizing the joy of harvesting one’s potential all while securing financial stability, because at the end of the day, it is understood that we are all here to make ends meet, move onward, and pursue our individual dreams and goals.
Currently, we are seeking a part time server (dinner service) to join our team. Salaries depend on an individual’s performance within the team, but our most experienced servers on average earn almost triple the current NYC minimum wage. Average length of operation: 6 hours / day from 4:00 PM.
Our ideal candidate possesses substantial command of the Japanese language and is comfortable working in a casually fast-paced and culturally Japanese environment. He or she sees the value in perseverance, teamwork, commitment, gratitude, and dedication. This individual is also detail oriented and is able to put situations in perspective. Experience is not necessarily needed but a high level of motivation and willingness to learn is critical to success. We firmly believe that experiences gained will ultimately carry over to any other profession.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to read this post and we look forward to having you be a part of our history. Please apply with resume and brief cover letter.
