Description The Medical Insurance Specialist will be responsible for managing insurance claims, verifying patient benefits, and ensuring accurate billing and coding practices. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical insurance processes.Key Responsibilities:
Process and submit insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
Handle billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations and referrals.
Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Assist patients with billing questions and payment arrangements.
Update and maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or higher in a related field preferred.Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical insurance billing and claims processing.Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT codes, and EDI transactions.Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
