Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Compensation & Benefits Specialist in the construction/contractor industry, based in Ronkonkoma, New York. As a Compensation & Benefits Specialist, you will be entrusted with the administration of payroll, benefits, and general HR functions, such as recruiting and onboarding. Responsibilities: Accurately calculate and prepare weekly payrolls, including commission and bonus payrolls. Administer voluntary and involuntary deductions in compliance with federal and state laws. Oversee benefits administration, including the preparation of communication materials and facilitation of annual and new hire enrollments. Maintain enrollment data in payroll and various provider/vendor enrollment systems. Assist with completion of annual 5500 forms/filings, HIPAA compliance, 401k discrimination testing, and audits. Administer all aspects of employee leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including interpreting FMLA and ADA implications. Carry out recruitment, onboarding, and training tasks as part of general HR functions. Maintain all electronic and physical employee records using various software applications. Handle terminations, exit paperwork, and collection of company property. Assist with maintaining company licenses and business-related insurances.Your proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Cisco Webex Meetings, CRM, Auditing, Benefit Functions, Claim Administration, Cobra Administration, and Communication will be crucial for this role. Requirements Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or contracting industry. Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now is necessary. Experience with Ceridian and Cisco Webex Meetings is highly desired. Adept at using CRM platforms. Must possess excellent auditing skills. Deep understanding of benefit functions and claim administration is required. Experience with Cobra Administration is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial. Must be able to work in a team environment and independently when required. Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
