Job Overview:
Under general supervision, the purpose of the job is to perform manual work in the operation of heavy equipment associated with preparation and installation of pavement markings.
Assists in layout of pavement markings of new road construction, striping of longitudinal lines and intersection markings to include school legends, railroad crossings, stop bars, crosswalks, and other pavement markings.
Ensures the safety of crews by use of a crash truck during striping operations.
Performs other duties which include loading materials in the truck.
Maintains equipment used for pavement marking installation; performs preventive maintenance on all tools and equipment; clean and maintain tools, machinery and equipment.
Ensures the safe and proper operation of trades tools and power equipment; adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements; ensures all work produced adheres to prescribed standards of the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD).
Performs duties as assigned/necessary which are related, or logical in assignment to the position
