Acts as the main point of contact for all marketing opportunities for the lines, to plan and ensure resources for these strategies. They will work with all relevant stakeholders, digital, marketing, , sales, suppliers, and operational support teams such as product information and supply chain to execute and deliver those marketing plans. Sr. MM will guide and manage Merchandising Managers within their overall business. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working with the Business Owner and team (Senior Category Manager, Category Manager), the Sr. MM will create and implement overall marketing strategies for multiple product lines through all market channels and vehicles. Directs and supports the MM team on tactical execution of product line strategies Oversees the activities implemented by MM’s who support the item lifecycle management of the Product Assortment determined by the Category Manager: o New item induction – induction, addition to merchandising platforms o Phase outs and Replacement items – substitutions, alternates, complimentary items o Customer specific item management (QIA graduation) o Cross reference – competitive part numbers Acts as the point person to effectively communicate strategies to gain support from other critical departments i.e. marketing, digital, sales etc. Responsible for the category sku portfolio and go to market strategies Reviews relevant market data compiled by the MM that includes module performance, sales, competitor pricing, etc. to support the strategy. For relevant categories, works with suppliers to collect media neutral data so that new and existing items are represented effectively in all media including e-com, print, and digital. Becomes subject matter expert in MSC’s customer segmentation strategy, and proficiently translate customer insights into product line and product marketing strategy. Routinely dedicates time to support and engage sales teams in activities such as (but not limited to) sales ride-alongs, support on account visits, and educational exercises to sales teams relevant to product line strategy, etc. Strategically uses and implements salesforce.com tool to engage and disseminate relevant information to sales channels Directs Merchandising managers to review product advertising/modules for all print/digital publications within respective product group(s) to ensure the items are presented clearly to the customer in order to maximize the effect of advertising, sales growth, reduce the need for further questions and minimize credits. Spear heads collaboration with strategically important suppliers, advertising, and sales, to create marketing plans, coordinate sales engagement activities, and source data rich content. Researches and drives future enhancements based on strategy of product line. Gathers market product knowledge on future product material and application trends, which can then be fed back into the Category Management strategy. Edits and approves catalog modules/ads in support of New Item Induction as appropriate. In line with the Category Management strategy, evaluates MSC pricing relative to pricing and presentation policies. Oversees the creation of field communication for respective product lines. Performs all duties inherent in the role of an MSC Manager including hiring, termination, review and development of associates. Manages all direct reports in line with MSC policies and Procedures Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose. Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required QUALIFICATIONS - What You Need: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or the equivalent related work experience is required. Product development experience required (Examples: identification of new products, competitive analysis, value to customer, sell price strategy etc.) Marketing and advertising campaign development experience required (Examples: catalog layout, web, print media, promotional advertising, supplier interaction etc.) Minimum of four years of Product development, product management, and/or marketing, ecommerce and advertising campaign development experience required Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are required. Strong organizational skills are required. Strong PC skills are required. Strong Presentations Skills. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required. Negotiation skills required Strong leadership and management skills Ability to effectively influence others to facilitate the completion of cross functional initiatives Bonus Points If You Have: Working knowledge of industrial products preferred Management experience of associates preferred Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license may be required. Compensation starting at $82390 - 129470 depending on experience.The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity.
