Assistant Controller

Description Robert Half is recruiting for an Assistant Controller for a Raleigh headquartered company. This is a newly created role due to growth and will be a key member of the accounting team. The Assistant Controller will supervise a small staff and will be responsible for the financial statement preparation of several entities. Duties will include:

Completion of accounting for a variety of real estate entities as per GAAP

Preparation of quarterly financial statements and reconciliations per property

Assisting the Controller with overseeing and refining property management, development, and operations accounting procedures

Ensuring punctual and accurate financial reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements

Leading and participating in special projects for continual improvement of accounting processes and systems

Collaborating with different teams to implement best practices and optimize financial operations

Providing support to division managers and colleagues to reach business objectives

Mentoring junior accounting staff and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred

A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in real estate

Solid experience in handling accounting of multiple entities, GAAP compliance, and financial analysis

Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide a team
