Made Possible.MATERIAL HANDLER JOB SUMMARY: Drives liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, clamps, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Positions forks, clamp, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or rolls and transports load to designated area.
Loads, unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
Records load information into computer, labels, or production schedules.
Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
Scans loads into location
Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s license.RCRA TRAINING (if applicable):Must complete RCRA Training to be able to properly handle any hazardous waste made within the printing process.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
