Description of WorkSalary Grade NC10. Salary Range: $40,442 - $70,774This is an Anticipated Vacancy.Internal Posting-Only Temporary or Permanent NCDOT Employees or layoff candidates with the NC Department of Transportation eligible for RIF priority reemployment consideration as described by GS 126 May Apply. Position certifies the issuance process of the State-to-State (S2S) Verification Service through the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) for all North Carolina credential holders. The position is located in the State-to-State Help Desk Unit within the Driver Services Branch of the Division of Motor Vehicles. The State-to-State Help Desk is responsible for many critical services supporting the field with the issuance of driver license and ID cards. This position is technical support for the following groups: AAMVA, NC DIT, DCIU, Driver License Help Desk, license & theft officers, the DMV administrative staff and other participating states. This Unit’s actions are regulated by North Carolina General Statutes, Federal Motor Carrier Regulations, Administrative Court Rulings, DMV driver license policies and procedures and licensing guidelines according to the American Association of Motor Vehicles Administrators.This position provides State Automated Driver License System application maintenance and application support to Driver License Help Desk and other state agencies. This unit also provides driver license research data via reports for the Driver Administrative staff and other sections within the Division of Motor Vehicles. Position utilizes systems such as SADLS, NDR, RDLIS, and CDLIS.The program areas for this position include one or more of the following: customer service in a help desk setting and experience with DMV mainframe applications such as SADLS, NDR, RDLIS, and CDLIS.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / CompetenciesApplicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:

Extensive computer experience with proficiency in web-based applications, MS Office applications, and database management systems.

Experience in providing customer service to a diverse clientele or other agency contacts.

Experience analyzing, interpreting, and recommending policy and procedural guidelines.

Experience in disseminating accurate information with confidentiality.

Experience in an office environment maintaining and updating files, records, and reports.
