[Spherion Staffing is interviewing Accounting candidates for an Accounting Manager role in Bismarck, ND. This position supports the companys accounting and financial reporting functions and initiatives; serves as a key technical resource on complex accounting requirements; leads efforts to assess communicate the impact of new accounting standards to management; advises the implementation of new accounting standards and updates to ensure the appropriate accounting treatment and policies are consistently applied in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

[Responsibilities:
[-Support the business in determining the appropriate accounting treatment of material and complex transactions
[-Develop and update corporate accounting policies and procedures relating to a wide variety of accounting issues to ensure consistent application of accounting principles across the organization
[-Prepare technical accounting memorandums documenting conclusions of complex accounting issues and transactions with reference to appropriate accounting literature
[-Interact with external auditors and business management to ensure appropriate accounting conclusions are reached
[-Monitor accounting standard development activity proactively and assess the impact of new developments in accounting standards on the company
[-Lead and advise on the implementation and reporting of the new accounting standards
[-Preparation and review of annual financial statements and footnotes to ensure compliance with relevant authoritative rules and regulations
[-Assess business control environment and recommend improvements to mitigate risk
[-Other duties as assigned[Requirements:
[-Bachelors degree in accounting or finance; or equivalent combination of education and direct work experience
[-Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
[-Proficiency in financial accounting, cash management, corporate finance and accounting tax rules and laws
[-Understanding of US GAAP and related experience with technical accounting research and application
[-Ability to manage competing deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
[-Ability to analyze, research, organize and interpret data
[-Skills with Microsoft Office Suite
