Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.Summary:Maintains heating/ventilation/air conditioning/refrigeration systems according to blueprints/engineering specifications, and by using knowledge of pneumatic controls/piping systems. Operates electronically-controlled environmental systems. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.Qualifications:Required:

HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.

Possess a current Refrigerant Handling Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Universal Certification.

Meets one of the following:

Possess a HVAC license for the State of Ohio.

Possess a HVAC Journeyman’s License for the State of Ohio.

Documented 8 years of HVAC experience/vocational training.

4 years of documented experience in HVAC, including repairing industrial refrigeration equipment.

Possess a current, valid Driver’s License.

Ability to read and utilize blue prints.

Solid problem solving skills, and able to use sound judgment.

Good interpersonal skills.

Basic personal computer skills.

Basic math skills.

Ability to follow directions.

Ability to work independently/with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.

Willing and able to adjust from the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days that are not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned.Preferred:

Possess a Third-Class Stationary Engineers License for the State of Ohio.

Prior Healthcare industry experience.Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Ability to climb intermittently during the day.

Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds.

Ability to lift 10-40 pounds.

Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
