DescriptionCitizens’ Enterprise Data & Analytics (ED&A) organization is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build data & analytic capabilities that accelerate deployment of AI/ML models and other advanced analytic products. In this role, you will:

Partner with other data scientists, data engineers, and data subject matter experts to design, build, and deploy reusable data products that accelerate delivery of AI/ML models and other advanced analytic products

Build a solid working knowledge of customer and business data and underlying business processes, in order to engineer highly relevant and impactful features for AI/ML models

Accelerate speed to insight by automating routine analytical processes and pragmatic answers to business questions

Build and deploy statistical and machine learning models and develop processes to evaluate and optimize model performance over time

Communicate analytical insights as a clear and approachable story, reducing complexity as appropriate for different audiences

Maintain a mindset aligned to Citizens’ commitment to an Agile operating model and to managing data as a product

A successful incumbent will have:

Master’s degree in computer science, analytics, data science, statistics, or related field

3-8 years of experience in turning ambiguous business problems and raw data into useful insights by applying critical thinking and advanced technical & statistical programming techniques

Proficient in Python and SQL

Applied experience with the full model development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and governance

A solid understanding of statistical and machine learning methods and algorithms

Experience with cloud computing platforms (preferably AWS) and ML-related services such as Amazon Sagemaker

A strong sense of intellectual curiosity and ability to thrive and deliver value in an entrepreneurial working environment

Ability to work in a high-performance professional environment, with quick turn-around and evolving priorities, including flexibility to take on new roles and responsibilities as needed

Commitment to intellectual rigor and observance of compliance and data privacy controls

A disciplined approach to making decisions and setting expectations

Experience working with large datasets (greater than 1 million records) and applying techniques to efficiently manage big data

Experience working with technical collaboration tools such as Git and Jira (preferred)

Experience working with financial or demographic datasets (preferred)
