Uncommon Carrier, a New Jersey–based trucking company with 45 years of experience, is expanding into the Midwest. We’re looking for a serious, self-sufficient Owner-Operator to handle ISO tank container moves from Detroit, MI rail ramp to Lima, OH (round trip, including empty return to Detroit).
This is not a hand-holding position. We don’t have a local office, local dispatcher, or vendor network in the Midwest. You’ll be working directly with our NJ headquarters, so we need someone highly dependable, trustworthy, and business-minded who can manage the job with little oversight.
What’s Expected:
Pick up loaded ISO tank containers in Detroit and deliver to Lima, OH
Return empty container back to Detroit rail
Be on time — customer only allows 24 hours free time once load is available; no excuses, no delays
Keep accurate paperwork and submit PODs, invoices, and supporting docs electronically to NJ office
Communicate clearly with dispatch in NJ
Handle breakdowns and problem-solve independently when needed
Requirements:
CDL-A with Tanker & Hazmat endorsement (ISO tank qualified)
Reliable tractor
Owner-operator mentality — treat this like your business
