Accountant

Description We are searching for an attentive Accountant to join our team in the retail industry, based in Perrysburg, Ohio. This role revolves around preparing financial reports, conducting financial analysis, and executing other related financial activities. Responsibilities: Oversee general accounting duties within the accounting department Generate and analyze periodic balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements Manage and maintain the general ledger Ensure accurate payments of invoices associated with accounts payable and charge them to the appropriate accounts Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable Process payroll through the company’s outsourced payroll provider accurately and efficiently Handle employee expense reports in accordance with company procedures Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual and periodic audits Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls Communicate effectively with vendors, banks, and other employees Recommend policies and procedures to maintain accounting controls Resolve financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role within the retail industry Proficient in Microsoft Excel Experience in preparing balance sheets and income statements Familiarity with the general ledger and accounts receivable (AR) Strong understanding of accounting principles Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
