General Maintenance Worker

The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring our rental properties remain in good working order. This position is with a small, enterprising company which offers room for growth and advancement.

The successful candidate will be able to:

Work with the maintenance Supervisor and fellow maintenance personal to prioritize and coordinate required work.

Handling assigned work in an efficient and timely manner.

Examining and diagnosing problems including electrical, plumbing, drywall, windows, doors and locks at various properties and performing necessary maintenance and / or repairs.

Interacting on a regular basis with Field Agents, Owners, and residents.

Minor repairing and /or replacing of kitchen appliances, such as refrigerators, stoves, washers, and dryers.

Performing minor to moderate-level plumbing repairs including repairing leaks, toilets, sinks, unclogging toilets and drains as well as repairs to or replacement of water heaters.

Repairing and replacing light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, and heaters.

Repairing door, and mailbox locks

Preparing recently vacated units for new tenants.

Performing other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

Prior experience with painting preferred.

Work history in household “Handy Man” type skills.

Position requires the employee to have and maintain their own hand tools. Sharp will provide consumable items such as lightbulbs, batteries, paint, hardware, etc.

Professional verbal and written communication skills. A bilingual candidate would be beneficial.

Must work well individually and as a team when needed for complex issues.

Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation.

Flexible, close to full time hours Monday through Friday, rotating Saturdays and/or extended hours, may be required. Rotating “on call” availability.

Prefer that the candidate live within the vicinity of Longview and Kelso, WA.

Must be able to work in environmental and physically challenging working conditions.

Must be able to lift objects weighing 50lbs or above regularly.
