Fiber SenSys Inc (FSI), the leading manufacturer of physical security in the data and perimeter marketplace, is looking to add an Optical Assembler to our manufacturing team. The Optical Assembler's main function is to carry out optical assembly manufacturing, testing and installation work under supervision by the Engineering Manager or his delegate. Other related tasks may need to be performed from time to time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Involvement in the construction/assembly and testing of products and instruments.

Maintenance and advancement of the associated manufacturing and logistics facilities.

Stock control in areas of responsibility.

Assist Logistics Planner with deliveries in accordance with the company's purchasing & receiving inspection procedures.

Responsibility for total TASS RMA processing including receipt of units, disassembly, transfer of APUs for analysis/repair, cleaning, reassembly and processing for return to the customer. Attention to detail is critical.

Supports product manufacturing. Provides input for easy and low-cost manufacturing. Assembles bills of materials. Assists with product assembly and test when needed. Other support activities may involve engineering documentation, fixture design, new part qualification, etc.

Comply with and enforce the relevant management system production and monitoring procedures.

Identify circumstances where preventative action on behalf of the company will prevent future problems.

Involvement in the support and on-the-job training of new technical staff.

Such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Candidates should be able to work constructively in a professional team environment and without close supervision.

Candidates should have good manual skills, adequate eyesight and hearing and possess adequate reading, writing and verbal communication skills in the English language.

Experience in fiber optic production methods, including fiber optic splicing, is preferable.

Must be willing and able to be trained in a variety of equipment and techniques, including the use of power tools.

Ability to receive and react to constructive criticism.

A high level of honesty, diligence, attention to detail, and pride in work is demanded.

Outstanding work ethic and ability to function within a highly dynamic environment.

Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously and with a team

Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening

Clean, professional appearance
