Environmental Technician opening at Martin S. Burck Associates (MSBA), an environmental consulting firm located in Hood River for over two decades.
MSBA performs investigations and cleanups related to environmental contamination and prepares technical reports summarizing our work.
Typical projects include underground storage tank decommissioning and cleanups; Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments at industrial buildings, repair shops, farms, dry cleaners, and wrecking yards; hazardous waste delineation and management; providing litigation support for various environmental lawsuits, etc.
The candidate would assist with a wide variety of tasks including but not limited to soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and air sampling; decommissioning and excavation cleanup oversight; site assessments; technical document preparation; data entry; and drafting site maps and cross-sections.
Related experience and/or an educational background in geology or environmental sciences (other backgrounds may be applicable) is preferred but not required.

OSHA 40-HR HAZWOPER hazardous waste training preferred
Some out-of-town overnight travel will be required
Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to use your personal vehicle for field work (with mileage reimbursement)
Candidate must live in the Gorge or be willing to relocate within 90 days
Strong attention to detail is a must
Pay range is $22 to $28 per hour and is dependent on experience
Full-time position, but we would consider part-time for the right applicant
Non-remote position with typical work hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday
Applicant will have their own office – Just say no to cubicles
Flexible for those adventure emergencies such as a powder day, perfect dirt on the trails, nuking wind, etc.
