THE POSITION

In this position, you will provide critical emergency information by collecting, coordinating, and prioritizing time-sensitive data in order to notify appropriate parties of necessary information to determine appropriate action including response and recovery resources. You will work closely with municipal, county, governmental entities, open sources, media, and non-government organizations to continuously improve the quality of operations to benefit the customers and citizens.Your responsibilities will involve aiding in the execution of agency strategic plans, necessitating strong communication skills and the capability to handle response/recovery, situational awareness, and resource support and planning. It is crucial to make critical decisions by gathering and analyzing information to ensure coordinated actions and proper alerting of relevant individuals. This role offers the chance to enhance work procedures, suggest equipment upgrades, and prepare for disasters through drills, as well as the opportunity to learn and fulfill other roles during a Response Center activation.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 PM to 9:00 AM, will work three 12.5-hour days per week
In the event of an emergency/disaster situation or training exercise, this position may be required to travel, work up to 12-hour shifts, and work outside of the normal work hours, including weekends and overnights.
Salary:The starting salary is non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will receive the minimum starting salary listed on this posting.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years of emergency coordination experience within the operation of a large municipal, county, statewide or national emergency center; and an associate degree in emergency management or other closely related field; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
