The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Fayette is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys teaching to join our team as a Corrections Electrical Trade Instructor. If you are ready to embark on a rewarding career where you can share your expertise and passion for the electrical trade, we want to hear from you!DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will oversee and direct a structured training program for inmates, both in the classroom and on-the-job, focusing on the electrical trade. Your key duties will involve ensuring the efficient operation of the facility and providing vocational education. You will instruct inmates on standard electrical practices, methods, and procedures, covering the installation, construction, repair, inspection, and maintenance of various electrical systems, including above-ground and underground systems, building electrical systems, lighting, switch boxes, transformers, motors, generators, and appliances. Additionally, you will plan and assign daily tasks for inmates and review their completed work assignments.Interested in learning more? Full-time employment, 40-hour work week

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Five years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment used in buildings; or

Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the electrical trade.Other Requirements:

Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
