Greiner Packaging is seeking an Machine Operator (Technician) to join our team in Pittston TWP, Pennsylvania. This position is essential to maintaining smooth production operations at our manufacturing plant.This position provides technical capability within the Decoration Department, with regards process optimization, product specifications and technical decision making. The decorations department is responsible for the production of the end product, from plain to decorated product with cardboard wrappingIn this position, you will learn specific Decoration process, equipment (specifically Hoerauf machinery), machine speeds, changeover times, product specifications and customer quality requirements.You will load and changeover machinery, and keep machines running smoothly; communicating any problems that arise to supervisors in a timely manner.You will have the opportunity to become an expert in operating and maintaining machinery. You will feel confident jumping in to make adjustments or changes as necessary to maintain production at the highest level, with the support of your Production, Warehouse, and Maintenance teammates.Process Optimization
Follow Standard Operating Procedures, set up new operating procedures as required for future department development
Technical set up of machines to run at optimum speed, as per GPC benchmarks, including machine speed increases if required.
Complete product changeovers as per production schedule and in accordance with established procedures and timeframes
Provide support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (trouble-shooting)
Assist with management of machine downtime, including breakdown & maintenance
Prepare and check changeover trolleys
Minimize waste & scrap and record relevant data
RequirementsTechnical Expertise
Detect, root cause and resolve non-conforming and customer complaints source efficiently and effectively, using the continuous improvement approach to problem solving
Carry out maintenance tasks
Provide assistance and/or technical support to maintenance engineers
Provide electrical, controls and automation support to plant process, packaging and machine operations
Support department in system and equipment troubleshooting and in technology transfer
Motivated to achieve department and company performance targets
Be a champion of Continuous Improvement Activity in the Decorations department
Provide break coverage when necessary
All other duties as assigned
Requires hand washing multiple times throughout a shift, including exposure to cleaning agents that may be harsh to the skin. (PPE Provided)
Experience
3-5 years' experience in a Maintenance or high-level machine operator role
Experience with Hoerauf Machines strongly preferred but not required
