THE POSITION

The Lackawanna County Area Agency on Aging is seeking an Aging Care Manager 1 to assist senior citizens with obtaining enriching services and supports to lead active and safe lives. Take pride in the work you do and apply with us today!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAging Care Managers are responsible for assessing the needs of older adults, creating care plans, offering advocacy and continuous care management, and safeguarding them from abuse and neglect. Our aim is to enhance the quality of life for older adults by granting them access to various community and home-based services. We are committed to empowering and defending the rights of older adults while assisting their families and other caregivers. This role may occasionally require a flexible work location or environment.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunchNon-traditional hours may occur on occasionYou must be able to travel to areas that may or may not be accessible by public transportation.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Three years as an Aging Case Aide 2; orA bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by twelve (12) credits in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.Other Requirements:You must meet the PA residency requirement.
