[PN]This position is a Layout Technician Intermediate, based out of Shippensburg, PA.The duties for the position Layout Technician-Intermediate are as follows:Under direct or general supervision regularly and customarily draws plans and specifications for minor construction, assists the engineers, and performs a variety of duties preparatory and collateral to that work. This includes the following, with other related and incidental work:

Designs the electrical and mechanical features for simple extensions of the distribution system in accordance with company standards and applicable codes.

Makes field sketches and detailed plans, including bills of material and specifications, and prepares estimates and performs necessary calculations.

Makes field sketches and maps of new and existing construction and makes appropriate changes in maps or provides memoranda for such changes to be made by others.

Acts as a member of a surveying crew.

Locates benchmarks and proper boundaries and runs transit lines; locates center lines and marks pole locations.

Works on maps, department files and performs miscellaneous clerical duties as required.

Computes necessary pole height and strength, specifies placement of anchors and guys, determines sags, and clearances.

Assists in securing minor rights-of-way.

Assists in preparation of agreements for joint use of poles and trenches and for wire crossings and makes appropriate sketches.

Directs the work of others who may assist.

Must have not less than one (1) year's experience as a Layout Technician-Junior.

Assists in making voltage and load studies on transformer installations.

In addition to the above and other related work of similar grade, a Layout Technician-Intermediate may be assigned to any other work of equal or lesser skill within the capabilities of the individual, to meet emergencies or other operating needs.
